In May 2006, Peachtree Golf Club closed the doors to its course for six months worth of renovations. SmallDog Rescue was offered the incredible opportunity to use the course for a fundraiser. (view the 2006 Tournament Invitation Cover Letter here)

Within just 10 weeks, we pulled together an amazingly fun day! The weather was beautiful, and over 100 golfers participated, helping us raise over $25,000! The money, of course, went "straight to the dogs". Thanks to our sponsors and participants, we were able to save more dogs from death row, spay/neuter them, provide medical treatment where necessary, and finally adopt them to wonderful forever homes.

Due to the overwhelming positive feedback we received from our participants, we decided to make it an annual event. We're hoping to make 2007's tournament even more special and to at least double the revenue. Let's make it happen for the dogs!

the tournamentWHAT we doWHY we do it
SmallDog Rescue is a 501(c)(3), non-profit that finds loving families for homeless dogs in the Atlanta area. We rescue many dogs from local shelters (including sick or difficult dogs!), foster them in our homes, and educate their new forever families. Thanks to donations, we provide excellent medical care (including spay/neuter) for all of our little orphans. Volunteers work tirelessly to train, socialize, and give the dogs all of the loving care that they so much deserve. Thanks to friends and supporters, we've rescued 100's of dogs, taking them from certain death to loving forever homes.
the tournamentWHAT we doWHY we do it
Every year, over 90,000 highly adoptable dogs and cats in metro Atlanta are euthanized in county animal shelters.

They often land in these shelters due to neglect, abuse, pet overpopulation, and irresponsible owners. Much of society has turned a deaf ear to this problem. SmallDog Rescue has not. We exist to give as many of these highly adoptable canine companions as possible a chance for the true forever home everyone deserves.
